Brexit & Data Transfers
Getronics are working with and helping customers and suppliers address the impact of Brexit on any data transfers to our UK operation.
The UK and the EU have now agreed a Treaty that will allow personal data to flow freely from the EU (and EEA) to the UK, until adequacy decisions have been adopted, for a period of six months from January 1 st 2020.
This will enable businesses including Getronics and all our customers to continue to freely receive and process data from the EU (and EEA) in the UK as before with no changes required to our contractual relationship.
In the event, that the UK does not receive an adequacy decision within the 6 month time period then Getronics will rely upon an alternative transfer mechanism, the use of Standard Contractual Clauses, to continue to allow the transfer of personal data to the UK. In such a situation we will deem these Standard Contractual Clauses incorporated, where necessary, within our customer and supplier contracts.
We will also send all our impacted customers and suppliers a copy of the Standard Contractual Clauses to formalise this transfer mechanism.
