ISO Certifications / ITIL

Getronics’ services and operations are fully aligned with the world’s most respected standards and frameworks. Our processes are based on the IT Infrastructure Library ( ITIL* ) service management framework, and our organisations are ISO-certified with a focus on continuous service improvement and customer satisfaction.

We are committed to ensuring that the services we provide are fully aligned to our clients' business goals. Getronics has developed and refined its Global Service Delivery Model to ensure a consistent and controlled service process worldwide.


ITIL

Getronics has many ITIL qualified personnel. Below you will find some ITIL related facts about Getronics:

  • Getronics was instrumental in the development of ITIL Best Practice in 1980s.
  • We were prime authors of the ITIL’s Service Support book which led to updates to all
    the education material.
  • We were selected by Microsoft to assist in development of MOF (Microsoft Operations Framework)
    which is based on ITIL.

Quality Management

Getronics operates ISO 9001:2008 registered Quality Management Systems in each country. Certification is based on regular assessments carried out by accredited certification bodies against the Standard and scope of individual country certificates. A key element of our management systems is to focus on continual improvement of our services and processes.

Environmental Management

Getronics maintains an Environmental Management System in the UK in support of its registration to ISO 14001:2004 (BSI certificate EMS 591711 for its Reading, Rushden, and Runcorn locations), with processes for managing legal and other environmental requirements, environmental aspects and impacts, environmental objectives, and procedures for waste handling and managing environmental incidents.

Service Management

Getronics is registered to ISO/IEC 20000-1, IT Service Management, in Switzerland and the UK (the latter under BSI certificate ITMS 591713 for its Rushden, Glasgow and Runcorn locations to the recent ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011 version of the Standard). Getronics technical staff have formal technical qualifications relevant to their roles and are encouraged to further their training through the Getronics Virtual University. This offers technical training in technologies such as Microsoft and Cisco along with service delivery training in disciplines such as ITIL and Prince2.

Information Security Management

Getronics is registered to the ISO 27001:2005 Security Management standard in Hungary, Switzerland and the UK (the latter under BSI certificate IS 591715 for its Rushden, Glasgow and Runcorn locations) and applies security controls based upon this Standard. To ensure compliance with our own policies, customer policies and regulatory requirements we have employed automated tools, legal requirements registers and regular internal and independent audits.

European Data Centre Code Of Conduct

Getronics UK has Participant Status in the European Data Centre Code Of Conduct, which aims to inform and stimulate Data Centre operators and owners to reduce energy consumption in a cost-effective manner without hampering the mission critical function of data centres. As an official participant, Getronics is committed to following the intent of this Code of Conduct and abide by a set of agreed obligations.

Energy Management

Getronics is registered to the ISO 50001 for its National Data Centre in the UK, which supports organisations in all sectors to use energy more efficiently, through the development of an energy management system (EnMS). To achieve and maintain this standard, Getronics has developed a policy for more efficient use of energy, with fixed targets and objectives to meet this policy. We consistently monitor and measure results, in order to focus on continually improving our energy management.
