Corporate Social Responsibility: A Joint Effort

Getronics is the biggest ICT service provider and employer in the Benelux. As manager of millions of workplaces, we are a leading player on the world stage too. That makes us proud. We realise that this is all thanks to our employees and that it involves social responsibility. We are therefore becoming increasingly active in the field of corporate social responsibility (CSR).

Our policy

Social responsibility is nothing new to us. For years we have been collecting and recycling old computers for example. And in terms of efficiency, our data centres are among the top five in the world. However, we want to go further than a few individual initiatives. We have therefore drawn up a CSR policy for our organisation in order to embed social responsibility in our business operations throughout every layer of the organisation.
Our CSR policy is based on three pillars:

For us and our customers

Globally, the IT industry is responsible for around two percent of CO2 emissions. This is on a par with the aviation industry. Our CSR policy is aimed at compensating our share in this pollution as far as possible. Through our services, we can also help reduce CO2 emissions. Working closely with our customers, we can guarantee them a socially responsible solution. In the form of Green ICT, we deliver concrete energy and cost-saving ICT solutions, enabling our customers to achieve their environmental objectives. For example, we can transfer customers' servers to our energy-efficient green data centres. And through our workplace services, we can offer flexible ICT applications which are not dependent on time or place.

Our results

In the coming years, we want to promote CSR and the results which can be achieved. Together with our employees, customers and partners, we look forward to that challenge. In its online sustainability report KPN gives details of its activities in the field of corporate social responsibility. The report shows what we are doing in economic, altruistic, ecological and social spheres in the Netherlands (KPN and Getronics), Germany (E-Plus), Belgium (BASE) and with other subsidiaries.
