Getronics’ Glasgow office is based in the historical art deco India of Inchinnan building, which dates from 1930 when it was designed for the India Tyre and Rubber Company. Since opening our office here in 2003, our Scotland business has gone from strength to strength, with additional presence in Edinburgh and Aberdeen and nearly 200 employees now located here.

Our Scottish Client Base

Getronics provides a range of ICT services, including Online Services/Cloud, Data Centre, Workspace, Consulting and Managed Services to a wide variety of Scottish based clients in both the private and public sectors. These include Chivas Brothers, Subsea 7, financial institutions and local county councils. Getronics has had long-standing relationships with many of these clients - spanning over a decade in some instances - and as a result, has built a deep understanding of their often unique business requirements.

Scottish Capabilities

Getronics provides our full portfolio of ICT services in Scotland, with a dedicated Consultancy and Projects Group on the ground which includes Field and Support Engineers, Technical Consultants and Project Managers. This dedicated team is skilled across the full technology spectrum, including server management, networking, desktop deployment and support, and has the capability to deliver end-to-end solutions across leading partner technologies including Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, HP, Dell and EMC. Some examples of our specific project expertise include:

  • Global Exchange 2010 Deployments: Design, test, install and consolidation of multiple email platforms and messaging environments onto one core email system.
  • Global SharePoint 2010 Deployments: Consolidation of disparate systems and legacy versions onto one core standard platform.
  • Data Centre Consolidations: Based on Enterprise Storage and Virtualisation technologies, including Cisco, VMware and Hyper-V.
  • Collaboration Consolidation: Consolidation of disparate messaging systems into one common collaborative platform, predominantly using Microsoft Lync and Cisco technologies.

In addition, the India of Inchinnan building is home to one of Getronics’ four Global Service Centres, with over 120 agents based here. Getronics can deliver 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line IT support to customers on a 24x7x365 basis, including multilingual support capabilities. Our Global Service Centres employ global best practices that are ITILv3 compliant, and through the Getronics Workspace Alliance approximately 60 additional Service Centres give us a truly global reach. Supporting the Local Economy

Getronics has consistently grown and invested in Scotland, after having received a Regional Selective Assistance (RSA) grant 5 years ago from Scottish Enterprise to encourage job creation and retention, increase skills and business opportunities. Support has also included training grants to enable the up-skilling and technical qualification of employees, which has assisted with retention and development of staff.

Today, with a number of recent new contract client wins and business growth of nearly 20% in the last 12 months, Getronics is once again working with Scottish Enterprise on further plans for growth.
