Our CIO Tim Patrick-Smith features as today's guest blogger for Computer Business Review on the subject of ‘The move from BYOD to CYOD’. In the article Tim describes how many organisations are choosing to adopt the more cautious approach of “Choose your own device” rather than leap into BYOD strategies.

The strategy involves users selecting their device from a number of approved products. This means that the transition to a more mobile way of work is less daunting to the developing businesses as well as manageable for the IT departments, especially in comparison to BYOD. The internal infrastructure would not have to be adjusted too drastically, security would remain solid, and data rights would allow the business to control corporate information. Although there is an implication with the cost, savings would incur if the business has high numbers of contracting staff who could be asked to use their own IT equipment.
