Communication Services
Page & Moy takes pole position in the technology race
Today, Page & Moy is the UK’s fifth largest travel advertiser and has an extensive tour operating business. It operates in over 100 countries and employs more than 300 people in the UK. Having been true to its values for 40 years, the company has succeeded in introducing a completely new communications infrastructure without compromising the distinctive character that is the cornerstone of its sustained success.

Challenge
Nevertheless, for all its long tradition, Page & Moy IT Director Malcolm Davies explains that the company has always been quick to exploit the benefits delivered by new technology. “In a market where margins are continually under pressure, anything that helps to drive costs out of the business is a genuine asset,” he says, “If it helps to boost productivity as well, then you have a further substantial benefit.”

Following a major overhaul of the customer-facing call centre technology, it became clear to the Page & Moy team that their back-office systems were also becoming obsolete. The whole telephone system had previously been outsourced to a service provider, which was no longer able to accommodate the fresh requirements of the business.

Solution
  • Cisco AVVID-based converged network infrastructure
  • Cisco IP phones
  • Cisco 6500 Catalyst Switches
  • Cisco CallManager and Unity telephony services

Benefits
  • Lower operational costs
  • Less cabling
  • Only one network to maintain
  • Additional communication resources with IP Phones
Client testimonial
“This was a major strategic step for us, which has already begun to deliver a fast return on the investment. But what Getronics has really given us is a stable and truly scalable basis for future expansion.”
