Getronics Brazil attunes an international Makro solution to the local market
Brazil's largest chain of self-service cash and carry warehouse stores, Makro Atacadista relies on the technology as a powerful ally for productivity increase and ongoing improvement of their customer service. As an evidence of that, Makro globally uses an advanced commercial administration system called MBS 2000. It is a complex tool that gathers dozens of functionalities, including stock of goods control, tax calculation, issuing of statistical data and control reporting. The main challenge was to localise several system modules to the Brazilian market and legal rules. In order to accomplish that mission, the Getronics team has searched the complexity of the tax legislation, the peculiarities of the commercial and business rules and the geographical distribution of the stores in Brazil. Sizing the new MBS 2000 application processing infrastructure that runs on a client/server environment was also part of the project.
